When complete, they are finished in a rust inhibiting paint, so they maintain their appearance for many years. Gears are shipped with pressure relieving poppets fully extended to allow for easier installation. They are fully tested for both internal and external leakage, overall smoothness, and proper valve balance. When properly maintained, they provide years of trouble-free service.
